Privacy policy

iRun42 (“we”) runs this website from Israel. This policy explains what information we handle when you use it, and your choices. Questions: contact@irun42.com.

What we collect

• No accounts. You can use the whole site without signing up or telling us who you are.
• Preferences in your browser. Your units, saved races, comparison list and cookie choice are stored in your own browser (local storage). They are not sent to us, and you can delete them by clearing your browser data.
• Messages you send us. If you use the contact form we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to answer you and, for race corrections, to update the race data. Messages are delivered through our form provider (Formspree) or by email, and kept for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and keeps short-lived logs.

Third parties

• Maps are loaded from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when map tiles load.
• Advertising. Sponsor banners on this site are plain images and links; they don't set cookies or track you.
• Affiliate links. Some links to hotels, flights, activities and gear are affiliate links. When you click one, the partner site (for example Booking.com, GetYourGuide or Amazon) may set its own cookies to credit us for a booking. That happens on their site and under their privacy policy.

Cookies and your choices

We only use non-essential cookies with your consent, and you can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings.

Legal bases

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for advertising cookies, on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for technical logs, and on your request for answering messages. We also follow Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Contact us at contact@irun42.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as Israel’s Privacy Protection Authority or the authority in your EU country.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
